Psychological Support
Individual psychotherapy for those affected by cancer, including patients and loved ones. Issues addressed include:
Coping with medical diagnosis, treatment, and side effects
Understanding your “new normal”
Managing emotional, physical, cognitive and social challenges
Feeling out of sync with age-peers due to delay in career development, family formation, or other milestones
Healthy ways to deal with depression
Handling anxiety about medical procedures, scheduled scans, and fear regarding mortality
Collateral contact with family members and healthcare team members as needed.
I’ve developed and conducted support groups for breast cancer survivors at Young Survival Coalition and Mount Sinai Beth Israel.
